Our mission is to transform the way people value clothing by offering high-quality repairs, rework, and remanufacturing while fostering the growth of a highly valued, skilled workforce in the US textile industry.
At its core, The Ribbit Factory seeks to revitalize artisan craftsmanship and rebuild the skilled labor force that the U.S. textile industry has steadily lost due to the rise of fast fashion and subsequent devaluation of garment worker’s labor. The industry can no longer retain or grow its labor force, and knowledgeable workers are becoming increasingly scarce.
The Ribbit Factory is founded on the establishment of a traditional guild program to attract a younger workforce and offer the opportunity for seasoned artisans to pass along their (often unrecorded) valuable knowledge to the new generation. Our menders are the foundation of our business.
