Patching

from $24.00

People have been patching their clothes for all of history. Originally a straightforward method of repairing holes in clothing, patches have gone from a symbol of practicality to an intentional marker of subversion. Starting in the 1960’s, patches began showing up in the street style of the counterculture movement, and by the 1990’s and early 2000’s, the punk movement embraced the patch, distorting traditional military and uniform patches into an emblem of rebellion. Our patches are made from 100% cotton, hand dyed in the US. They’re best for woven, non stretch garments (although some stretch is usually fine!). Think jeans, button down shirts and t-shirts.

This mend is for a single patch in the color and size of your choosing. All patches are sewn to garments with a raw edge and a zig zag finishing stitch in the closest matching thread color to your item. Please note that colors may look different on your screen. When choosing the size of your mend, please keep in mind that the flaw on your item must be smaller than this finished size indicated on the size chart. Please refer to the size chart to determine the best fit for your item, or reach out to us with questions at hello@theribbitfactory.com.

Please Read - Important Payment Information

Adding an item to your cart will prompt a payment in full for the listed price of your chosen mend. Upon receiving your responses to the questionnaire or reviewing your item in person, it may be required for us to charge additional fees. For example:

  • If the flaw on your item is too large for the chosen mend size, we will send an invoice via email for the balance payment required. Work will not be completed without a paid balance. If you choose not to mend your item, we will refund your order. If the item is at our studio at the time of order cancellation, you may pick up your item free of charge, or we can send a separate invoice for shipping charges to mail it back.

  • If the item is being mailed-in or mailed-back, but the appropriate shipping option has not been chosen, we will issue an invoice for the the balance of any shipping charges before items are sent back.
